Training program cost estimate

Variables

  • The level at which you enter the program will depend on your previous training and experience.
  • Mentorships cost the student $175 per day paid directly to the mentor.
  • Travel costs vary widely depending on your location and the location of your mentors, your mode of transportation, lodging, etc. Students are required to work with a number of different mentors who are located throughout the US and Canada, so travel will be required to complete the training program.
  • Some mentors are willing to travel to you.
  • If you choose to attend clinics or other non-required events for elective credits, you are responsible for those fees and the travel costs.
  • Many students choose to do two-day mentorships when traveling to a mentor.

STEP 1 – Enrollment – $125

  • One-time initiation fee – $50
  • Annual auto-renewing dues – $75

STEP 2 – Beginning Clinics $525 + travel

  • Beginner trimming, anatomy, and hoof protection – $525
  • Introduction to Equine Diet and Lifestyle online course – free

STEP 3 – Beginning Mentorship Series $525 + travel

  • Mentorship #1 – $175
  • Mentorship #2 – $175
  • Mentorship #3 – $175
  • Written Exam – free

STEP 4 – Intermediate Studies $525 – $975 + travel

  • Mentorship #1 – $175
  • Mentorship #2 – $175

  • Nutrition requirement – $65 – $225
  • Metabolic issues requirement – $65 – $225
  • IS Media Presentation – free

STEP 5 – Advanced Studies $350 – $575 + travel

  • Mentorship #1 – $175

  • Radiograph requirement – $65 – $225

STEP 6 – Electives – $300 – $1000 + travel
