Practitioner, Mentor

-I have been trimming professionally since 2002. I obtained by original certification through the AANHCP, later becoming a member of PHCP and the American Hoof Association. I completed an equine massage course through the Northwest School of Animal massage in 2007, and make annual continuing education events a priority. Saddle fitting and physiologically sound training principles are a passion of mine. I co-authored The Essential Hoof Book with Susan Kauffmann, published by Trafalgar Square in 2017. I enjoy working on a variety of horses, from foals to forty year olds, competitors to beloved pasture pets.

-I can periodically take on a few clients; contact me for availability. I work primarily in Whatcom County and the Methow Valley.

Mentorships: For students looking to do a mentorship, the charge is $175 per day; $100 is paid by the student, and $75 is paid by a PHCP stipend. I highly recommend a two day minimum if at all possible; there is far too much information to go over in just one day! Mentorships are in gorgeous Twisp, WA ~ if you are able, take some extra time to make it a mini-vacation. The scenery is stunning, and I can possibly take you out on mountain rides on one of my horses, or enjoy a scenic hike in the North Cascades or Sawtooths.
