In 2021, after nine years of practicing farriery (graduate of Mission Farrier School class of 2012), I transitioned away from the application of horsehoes and focused on barefoot rehab and trimming. The focus of my practice is to build a healthy foot from the inside out. Developing the caudal hoof by increasing circulation and building internal structures via a heel first landing. Boots are used for rehab but I strongly believe that if owners can’t manage boots appropriately, and the horse is in chronic pain without boots, then the owner should seek out a professional who can apply composite shoes. In the past, I offered composite glue ons as part of my practice but prefer to focus on building hoof health without them—boots, when used PROPERLY, achieve amazing results and are healthier for the hoof.

Mentorships:
I am located in Underhill, VT, which is 30 mins from Burlington and 2 hours from Montreal. I live near Lake Champlain, Mt Mansfield (the highest mountain in VT with many hiking trails) and Stowe, a quaint mountain town near the famous Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream! This is the perfect place to tag a mini vacation on to your mentorship.

Subsidized mentorships:
The cost of a one day mentorship is $175. $100 is paid by the student directly to the mentor and $75 is subsidized by PHCP until January 1 when PHCP will no longer subsidize mentorships. The subsidy is offered for 1 or 2 day mentorships. If you are doing a 3 day mentorship you are responsible for the full $175 to the mentor on the third day.

Traveling Mentorships:
I might be willing to travel for mentorships in the New England/Eastern Canada region depending on the time of year. I have dual citizenship so can work in both countries. Please email or text to inquire.
