Jessica Stonecypher

Intermediate Student Practitioner

I fell in love with horses on my 10th birthday when I was surprised with my first horseback riding lesson (thanks mom and dad!). That horsey smell and the peace I experienced around them had me hooked right away. After taking lessons for a few years, I stepped away from the horse world until I finished graduate school and purchased my first mare. My girl Grace was sweet as pie but had metabolic challenges that affected the health of her feet. As I learned to care for her, I became fascinated with hooves. Thankfully, I had amazing trimmers in my life who answered my questions and encouraged me to continue learning. This led me to PHCP where I recently completed my beginner studies and look forward to continuing as an Intermediate Student Practitioner.

In addition to trimming, I teach agriculture in the public school setting and I’m a PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning. Through adaptive horsemanship, I’ve experienced the importance of quality hoof care for the working horse. Their health and comfort are critical to the success of serving the many needs of our students.

I am excited about expanding my impact as I serve horses and their owners in my geographic area. I am accepting clients in central and southeastern Ohio and look forward to connecting with like-minded horse loving folks in my region!
