My hoof care journey started a couple years ago when I realized my horse needed a different trim than what was being offered as well as a more gentle approach. When I first got my horse back in 2011, I didn’t know there needed to be a hoof trim schedule. No farrier told me that he needed to be on a certain schedule. Instead, I was to call when his hooves started to crack. I also didn’t know that horses shouldn’t be lame or have issues walking after being trimmed. Now I know better. I know that flares and cracks are not the sign to schedule an appointment and that each horse should be able to walk or be ridden after a trim.
Though I started learning about hooves a couple years ago, I didn’t decide to take the leap into trimming hooves and setting up my own business until the fall of 2021. Beginning in 2022, I started doing mentorships and diving even deeper on horse and hoof care. I am passionate about making sure that other owners know when to get their horses trimmed and know what I didn’t know all those years ago.
I also believe that every horse is unique and needs to be handled as such. I am patient with working with horses that struggle with anxiety and trust issues and love to love on them and help them thrive. I see each horse as an opportunity to learn their handling style and work with them instead of against them.
I am currently taking on clients in Newberg, Sherwood, West Linn, Aurora, Canby, Beaverton, Hillsboro, and some other surrounding areas in Oregon. While I do not carry boots with me, I do help size your horse for boots and help you with the ordering process. I also offer a specialized trim based on what the individual horse needs which is based on hoof shape, bone structure, environment, diet, etc. Any and all questions are always welcome. I enjoy getting questions I don’t know the answer to because it gives me an opportunity to do research, talk with mentors, and grow my education.
The best way to contact me is through email or text.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.
