Business name: Equine Balance Hoof Care
I emphasize hoof health in concert with overall equine wellness, looking for ways to get every horse thriving, not just surviving. I graduated Montana State University with an all-around farrier education, but the real education began afterwards. After years of trimming/shoeing competitive and pleasure horses, I took a major detour into whole-horse hoof care, studying and applying the work of Jackson, Ramey and Bowker, among others. American Hoof Association and PHCP certification attained 2011.
Mentorships:
Though no longer taking on hoof care clients, I am dedicated to Diet-Movement-Trim for every horse. I enjoy mentoring students of the horse, and teaching owner-trimmer beginning clinics. We can work here or I’ll travel to your location for a Mentorship in some situations.
Mentorships are $175/ day. PHCP students pay $100 and $75 is covered through the PHCP Foundation. You pay full amount if I travel to you. Every level student is welcome, and I specialize with beginners. Ferry-served Lopez Island is located off the Northwest coast of Washington State near the Canadian border, so plan extra travel days or an extended weekend. Rustic sleeping cabin available. Get in touch and we’ll discuss details.
