Growing up the daughter of thoroughbred racehorse trainers and a hunter/jumper rider myself, I have been immersed in the horse business my entire life. As a curious knowledge seeker with a healthy dose of skepticism, a couple of horses entered my life and challenged my knowledge and led me down the hoof care rabbit hole. After taking over my own horses’ hoof care and rehabs, a deep seated passion grew. Wishing I had known this information long ago, I realized there are lot of horses out there I could help become sounder and live healthier, happier lives. I joined PHCP to further my knowledge as I work towards achieving full certification.
I enjoy empowering owners with the knowledge and tools to bring out the potential in their horses’ hooves and health, and I believe in a team effort especially in rehab cases.
Whether you have a performance horse or pasture pet, I offer maintenance trimming, boot fitting, glue-on composite shoeing, as well as rehabilitation for laminitis, founder, navicular, thin soles, caudal failure and methodical barefoot transitions out of shoes. I have a soft spot for thoroughbreds and rehabbing those “typical” TB feet. Proper nutrition is an integral piece of the puzzle and I also work with owners to implement a hoof healthy diet.
Based in Mecklenburg County VA, and offering services to the surrounding southern VA and northern NC counties. I also have a route servicing the southeast Richmond area. I’m currently accepting a limited number of new clients who are motivated to help their horses have healthy hooves.
